Sardinian Mirto is a popular liqueur made from myrtle and comes in two distinct flavours: Mirto rosso which is made from the myrtle berries and Mirto bianco which is made from the leaves of the myrtle plant. Mirto is often served as an after dinner digestive and is served chilled. Most restaurants will offer a homemade mirto which is stronger and has less sugar.

This is my response to the Weekly Photo Challenge: Illumination.
Have you tried Sardinian mirto?

Nice take on ‘illumination’, Jennifer! In vino veritas, perhaps?
Thanks, Richard. What does veritas mean? I thought the glass was nicely illuminated and after I drank two of these so was I!
I think veritas means truth, Jen…….”in wine is truth”
it made me thirsty… nice shot
Thank you. It is a nice drink. Have you tried it?
I bring back to Canada all I can get through customs every time I visit Sardinia; all my friends love it, to my chagrin!!!!!!!
We tried it and liked it a lot.
wow, i would like to try that! z
